February 28, 2004, Denver Rocky Mountain News published a story by Lou Kilzer, an award-winning journalist, about the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a large well-known animal sanctuary. His story relates that the owners of this sanctuary are rumored to be the original founders of The Process Church of the Final Judgment, a group that was linked to several high visibility events of the past including Charles Manson and "Son of Sam" murders in New York.
1st and 2nd Hour:: Maury Terry, author of The Ultimate Evil, joins us during the first two hours to discuss his investigation of the "Son of Sam" murders in New York in the late 70s. Terry discusses evidence that linked the Process to David Berkowitz.
3rd Hour:: A Closer Look's Criminal Justice Specialist, James Rothstein, joins us to discuss his investigation of the Process during his career as a police detective with the New York City Police Department. We will also be joined by researcher, Theresa, who has been researching the business pedigree of the founders of Best Friends.
